COUNTERACT Study

Does your child struggle with picky eating? Is your child afraid to eat?

About the Study

Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) is a mental health disorder. Children and adolescents with ARFID sometimes have a very hard time eating different types of food, or the amount of food their bodies need. It can be very difficult to live with ARFID.

Right now, there aren't any treatments for ARFID that have been backed by science. It can be very hard to find help if you are struggling with ARFID.

We are testing two study treatments for ARFID. It is important to us to learn how well these treatments work and why they work. We want to understand ARFID better and make it easier for people with ARFID to get good care.
